My love of painting didn't hit me until I was
married in 1983. I needed a hobby and took up ceramics.
It came easy to me and before I knew it, I was doing
craft shows and selling my wares. I soon opened a studio
which kept me quite busy for the next 11 years. In
1999, I sold the studio and moved the business into my home.
I kept a dozen or so molds, bought a small kiln and
started painting. The rest is history as they say :
)
I opened my website in September 1999 and never
looked back. The internet allows me to do something
I love, stay home while doing it AND earn money at the same
time. Life is good : ) Had I known where I would end
up, I would have planned a little better when we built our
house. As it is, I pour the molds in the basement,
fire the kiln in the garage, paint in the kitchen and do the
computer "stuff" in the living room. The business has
taken over the house. . . but that's okay, at
least I am home for my family. |
My family . . . my husband of many
years, Rick, my daughters Katie (a teenager) and Becky (10), our lovable mutt, Zeus, and our new kitten, Peanut, all put up with
me and my business. | In the fall, which is my busiest
time of year, piggy banks and boxes are all through my house.
We jokingly call it "Piggy Bank Central".
"Piggy Bank Central" is located in southwestern
Pennsylvania, about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh, in a small
(really small) town called Cabot. I sometimes say we
are out in the sticks, but it's not really that far out.
If you have read this far, "Thank You"!
I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me.
I am a one mom business - the pour-er, the painter, the packer
and all around "bottle washer". I take great pride
in my work and do everything to the best of my ability.
By nature, handcrafted items have slight imperfections and
flaws, that's what makes them unique! That said, I cannot
promise perfection but I can promise to make you a piggy bank
or plate that meets or exceeds your expectations : ) Thanks
again!
