Why ME???

In my very first post I mentioned I was just back from vacation...a much needed one too : )Becky and some birds. My aunt, my youngest daughter and I, all went to Florida for 11 days. It was wonderful! One day was spent at a park called Discovery Cove in Orlando. If you ever go to Orlando, and have the time, I highly recommend spending a day at Discovery Cove. The price may seem a little steep at first, but it is a reservation only, all inclusive park. They only allow 1000 visitors in per day and the cost includes breakfast and lunch, and all snacks and drinks through out the day. Your ticket also includes admission to either Sea World or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. If you choose to, you can pay extra to swim with dolphins....we chose not to. We went for the aviaries. Becky is a true bird lover and spending the day in free flight aviaries was a dream come true. Besides aviaries, you can swim with rays, snorkel on a coral reef and float in a lazy river.

Becky and one bird. But back to the aviaries....while you are at Discovery Cove, there are park photographers walking around taking pictures of all the guests interacting with the birds and sea life. You never know when your picture will be snapped. At the end of the day, you go to the picture counter and look at your pictures and decide what ones, if any, that you want to purchase. We had lots of pictures of us in the aviaries, because that is where we spent most of our time. The birds will sit on you while you feed them....and some will just sit on you becuse they like you. It was a lot of fun for all of us. We have some great pictures of Becky and her birds : )

At the end of our day we went to look at our pictures. My poster image.I remembered the one photographer taking my picture and showing me and saying this is a cool picture. But I didn't think much of it. My aunt was waiting to pick up the pictures we had chosen. And waiting and waiting. Finally she got them and came over and told me it took so long because they liked a couple pictures so much, they wanted to copy them to use as posters for the park. Ooooh, I knew just what one they meant too....the one with me and the bird. The day was cool and damp and my hair was a frizzy mess. We had been swimmimg, so there was no makeup. I had a cold sore that was still highly visible. And of course, that was the picture. It couldn't be Becky....oh no, it had to be me! It is a cool picture....but as a mom, I would much rather see my child's face instead of mine. Good grief, and it could be POSTER size! Aye yi yi....

Becky and me feeding birds.

This is the other picture that may be a poster. I just love this one! But Becky has a hat on, and you can't see her face. It is a cool mother daughter picture though.....
MY promotional poster!

Over the past month I have slowly gotten used to the idea that I may be a poster hanging somewhere.....I may never know. My only thought now is, "Darn why couldn't I be holding a piggy bank?" Then I would have a promotional poster too : )
