Back to Business
It's funny how things can change in just a matter of days. When I started this blog, business was slow and I was essentially bored. Sure, I had plenty of other things I could do here at home, but I like to paint. Having a few orders to work on keeps me focused and organized. Last week I even started basecoating some plates, getting them ready for this coming Christmas season. That's way ahead of schedule : )
I even had time to paint some new piggy bank designs, did you see the cat and dog? As well as a couple personalized baby plates. And painting new products is never the problem, it's getting them uploaded to the website that takes me some time. So last week, I not only painted new things, I got them on the website, that's how slow I was.

And painting new products is never the problem, it's getting them uploaded to the website that takes me some time. So last week, I not only painted new things, I got them on the website, that's how slow I was. But being slow this week was okay. I knew I was going to be spending most of the week at Saints Peter and Paul Church, baking nutrolls for their Easter bake sale. I'm not used to being on my feet all day long, so after baking all day (9am - 3pm) I was tired when I got home. Smelled good, but tired : ) And of course, since I am not home this week, and I am so very tired when I get home, new orders start coming in. I manage to check emails and see what is going on, but I am pretty much useless. I can't believe how tired I am. Trying to paint didn't even cross my mind this week until last night. I figured I ought to finish the piggy banks that had been sitting on the kitchen table all week. Eventually I need to ship them out.....I do need to earn some money and I am sure the customers would like their piggy banks.
It just never fails, when I am busy and have other things to do, I get new orders. That's good, I do like my job and I do want to make money. I'd rather be busy than slow....it's just funny how it goes. When business is slow, life is slow. When my life is busy, business is busy. Maybe it is God's way of telling me I work better under pressure. Today is the last day I have to be at church. And it is an easy day, no baking, just handing out orders. So hopefully I will come home today rested, and ready to get back to work and start painting. And hopefully the orders will continue to come in.
